WalkRidge is a WordPress theme for licensed tour shops. Visitors browse tours, meet guides, and book online. Operators change brand, phone, and hours in the Customizer — no code.

Who it is for

Tour shops and agencies that need tours, guides, and checkout in one site. Also hiring managers who want to see a WooCommerce theme I shipped.

Why I built it

Tour shops need schedules, guide bios, and checkout in one place. Most options are a bare store or a heavy travel kit they will not use.

What I did

I built marketing pages with WordPress blocks and booking through WooCommerce. Brand, phone, hours, and the header button live in Customize. Operators never touch code.

What you can use

A tour shop can show the work, introduce the guides, and take bookings. Hire me to brand it or set up the shop.

Architecture

  • Sage 11 + Blade + Tailwind v4 + Vite 8.
  • Ten server-rendered Core Gutenberg blocks for marketing pages (Block Generator for custom layouts).
  • WooCommerce optional — marketing site, contact form, and blog run without it.
  • Customizer Identity for brand, phone, email, address, hours, header CTA, social URLs.
  • Native SEO tags yield to Yoast / Rank Math / SEOPress / AIOSEO.

Handoff

You get the theme zip and a short guide. Set the brand in Customize, then add tours in WooCommerce. Hire me to load your tours or change the layout.

Questions

Is WalkRidge a WordPress tour theme?

Yes. WalkRidge is a WordPress theme built for licensed-guide tour companies: bookable tour products in WooCommerce, guide bios, an area context page, and a contact desk — without a page builder.

Do I need WooCommerce to use WalkRidge?

WooCommerce is optional. The marketing site, blog, and contact form all run without it. You only need WooCommerce if you want to sell bookable tour products through a cart and checkout.

What do I get when I buy WalkRidge?

The marketplace pack: walkridge.zip (upload in Appearance → Themes), a child theme starter, and HTML documentation. Optional companion plugins — Walkridge Bookings and Walkridge Field Map — are sold separately. Instant download after checkout.

How do I add my tour company's branding?

Go to Appearance → Customize → Identity. Brand name, phone, email, address, hours, the header CTA label and URL, and social links are all there. Upload your logo under Customize → Site Identity. No code required.

How do I build the marketing pages?

After activating the theme, go to Tools → Walkridge Blocks and click Seed pages. That creates your Tours, Guides, Area, and Contact pages with the right Gutenberg block layouts. Edit them directly in the block editor.

Can I white-label WalkRidge for a tour operator client?

Yes. Theme code is GPLv2 or later. You can install it for a client, customize it, resell services on top, or use the child theme as a white-label base.

Can you install or customize WalkRidge for my tour company?

Yes. Buy the pack for self-serve, or get help and I brand it, load your tour inventory, and hand off wp-admin editing to your team.
